Brendan Rodgers claimed he had actually never been happier at Celtic after leading the team to a fourth consecutive title.

The Hoops clinched a 13th William Hill Premiership crown in 14 seasons with a 5-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice.

It was an 11th prize for Rodgers during his two spells as Celtic boss and he can finish his 3rd treble if his side beat Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final.

The 52-year-old appears to have restored his credibility with the large bulk of Celtic fans after leaving mid-season for Leicester in 2019 and he again reiterated he is devoted to serving his three-year agreement.

Rodgers concurred it was reasonable to state he is better than ever in his job and added: "It's been fascinating the last few months, individuals choosing where I was supposed to be going and I wasn't happy.

"I said 150, 200 per cent I'll be here for sure next season because we want to develop once again, we want to grow.

"But what I'll likewise say, there's extremely, extremely few individuals that know me and there's even less me.

"I do not have an agent, so I don't have a representative spinning a story for me or anything like that. So if there's a headline out there, I am informing you, it's a guess.

"But definitely, I am so, so happy.

"I came back because of the expert difficulty of Celtic, understanding the pressures. My psychological attachment to the club plainly has me here instead of in other places. And just the opportunity to be the finest manager at Celtic that I can potentially be. And days like this make it actually special."

Rodgers added: "I stated minimum I would be here three years.

"The big thing with Celtic, it has to do with having the energy. That's the big thing, and there's lots of other things of course. As any supervisor, you need to feel desired, you need to feel appreciated. You require to feel that you can develop a group, you can develop a club.

"So there's great deals of things that enter it, but I absolutely understand that we wish to finish much better than we did last year. And after that I'll enter into next year incredibly hungry to beat this year, whatever we end up doing."

Celtic dealt with some early pressure before Ryan Strain's 30th-minute own objective began a flurry of objectives either side of half-time with Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah both striking doubles to seal the title.

"I know there was a wee bit of chat around, laborious I believe the word was of somebody, but it's not tiresome for me, for the football club," he stated.

"If we land at 15 points ahead with fives games left and a plus-42 goal distinction ahead of our nearby rival, I'll tell you what, that's not tiresome, that's professionalism at its highest level and concentration and efficiencies."

It was not all positive for Celtic. Jota went off with a knee injury in the very first half and was hobbling badly with his leg heavily braced throughout the events.

"The medical guys are taking a look at whether his meniscus is a bit aching," Rodgers said. "We'll just have to assess that. They put it in the brace to secure it, however we'll see in the next couple of days."

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin complained the turning point.

"It sounds bizarre to sit here and state for the opening half an hour I thought we were really excellent, the shape of the team was excellent and we were aggressive with journalism, forced Celtic into playing a lot longer than they would typically have liked," he stated.

"But the first goal was a real start the teeth offered it's a little misfortune.

"The 2nd one comes from a promising attack that we had, a tame effort on objective, but then within five or 6 seconds, with the pace of Celtic on the counter attack, the ball winds up in the back of your net."
